NHTSA 18V673000
Defect: General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Cadillac CT6, Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Suburban, Volt, and GMC Yukon XL vehicles. Risk: If the child seat is not properly secured in the event of a crash, it can increase the risk of injury.

If a wheel-speed sensor fails, while the vehicle is traveling between 41 and 60 mph in four-wheel or automatic mode, the Electronic-Brake Control Module (EBCM) software may a…
Risk: Unintended activation of the driveline-protection system will cause unintended braking on the wheel on the opposite side of the failed sensor, causing the vehicle to pull to one side unexpectedly, increasing the risk of a crash.

Is the 2019 Chevrolet Suburban safe to buy used?

3 open recalls doesn't automatically mean you should walk away — most recalls are repaired free of charge at a dealer. What matters is whether this specific car has had the work done. An unrepaired “park it” recall is both a safety risk and real negotiating leverage: you can make the repair a condition of sale or ask for money off to cover your time.

Are Chevrolet Suburban recall repairs free?

Yes. Safety recall repairs are performed free of charge at any authorized Chevrolet dealer, regardless of the car's age or mileage and regardless of how many owners it has had.

How do I check if a specific 2019 Chevrolet Suburban had its recalls fixed?

You need the car's 17-character VIN. A ClearVIN Buyer Brief looks up the exact VIN against NHTSA's database and shows which recall campaigns are still open on that individual vehicle.
